What if I told you that everything you think you know, is wrong? I’m not crazy.

In HappyThankYouMorePlease, Josh Randor’s character talks about a writer that noted:

Every five years he realizes what an asshole he was five years ago.

Every five years, like clockwork, he goes ‘MAN, I was such an asshole five years ago.’

You may chuckle, but let me remind you that behind every joke is a kernel of truth.

It’s true though - for better or worse, we change and we grow. But it’s not just us - the world is changing too, and this is why I think it’s important to always stay curious. It’s important to stay “thirsty” for new experiences, if you will.

As an accounting major, here’s an example: In order to keep your CPA license, you have to attend talks about changes in accounting principles, because the rules are constantly evolving. Especially in this world, it’s not inconceivable to say that if you hold on to what you know for too long, you may actually know nothing at all.
